FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
Please note that Pushing Boundaries Bodyworks LLC does NOT bill any insurance carrier directly for massage or doula services. I DO accept FSA and/or HSA debit cards as a form of payment. Additionally, if your insurance carrier provides reimbursement for massage or doula services, you may request a Verification of Services letter that I will happily provide for you.
What is a doula?
Doulas are birth companions that uphold their clients vision for their birth experience, their bodies, their boundaries & limits, and their decisions for their baby by providing them a neutral ear, emotional & physical support and all the resources they need to make empowered choices, not informed by fear or coercion.
When do I hire a doula?
ANYTIME during your pregnancy! But the earlier, the better your chances of securing someone that will best meet YOUR needs. Also gives more time to prepare and build that companionship.
Are doulas only for home births?
NO WAY! Doulas can help you in any way you envision your birth, whether at home, a birthing center or a hospital.
How can a doula help me?
Meeting with you to address your hopes and fears, discuss labor and birth preferences, and plan postpartum care. Help in creating a personalized birth vision to ensure that your preferences are prioritized throughout labor and birth. Continuous labor and birth support, including physical comfort measures & massage. Assistance in setting up nourishing meal train / meal prep, and more!
What if I want more massages than my doula package offers?
If you use all your massages and want more… additional massages may be purchased for 20% OFF for the duration of your doula contract.
Do you offer Postpartum Doula packages?
Yes, buy 10 hours and get 2 FREE.
What if I go into labor before my scheduled prenatal massage?
We can keep your appointment time and switch to postpartum massage. We can reschedule to a different day. If cancelled within 24 hours and you choose to not reschedule to postpartum service you will be subject to 50% service fee.
Can I bring my baby to my massage?
YES! Any infants under the age of 6 months are welcome at my studio and can be on the massage table with you for bonding/feeding. I also have a bassinet in the studio.
How soon after birth can I get a massage?
The sooner the better! Touch is considered one of the 5 essential postpartum needs and can be key in your recovery. Massage can relieve residual body aches from birth, muscular tension from child-feeding and newborn care, improve regulation of postpartum hormones, and help with sleep deprivation.
